What is Therapeutic Kink?
Therapeutic Kink (TK) is a tool in which we explore deep desires that are often suppressed due to societal norms and taboos, feelings of shame and guilt, trauma, the absence of a safe space/ partner, or even a lack of knowledge about how to enjoy kinks safely and consensually. This suppression can leave one feeling unfulfilled, anxious, and inauthentic–like there is a part of life that is missing, or a part of yourself that is hidden in shadows and wants to see the light.
In TK, we start with open and non judgmental dialogue. I will make sure you feel safe to express hidden parts of you without shame or fear, and you may feel lighter and stronger just by talking honestly about matters you have held inside for too long. During this first phase of our work together, you will be learning about how to:
- Practice Risk-Aware Consensual Kink (RACK)
- Define experiential interests and goals
- Discover and enforce your authentic “yes” and “no”
- Clearly communicate your desires and needs
- Identify and define your boundaries and limits
In the second phase of TK, I will help you realize the many different approaches to practicing kink in ways that feel right for your life and your goals. We will discover how you can use kink to assist you in expressing your authentic self by heightening awareness of the connection between body and mind, building your confidence, erasing shame and inducing a cathartic experience that is lasting and empowering.

Is Therapeutic Kink Right for You?
Therapeutic kink (TK) may be right for you if you have feelings of shame or guilt connected to sexuality, if you feel like you cannot be honest and open with your friends and family, have negative self-image, difficulty naming and asking for what you desire, and/or need a safe space to explore. TK can also advise and give confidence to individuals and couples who want to try out new interests but are unsure of how to go about it. With my guidance, one can learn about the key elements of BDSM and kink such as:
- Obtaining and giving embodied consent
- Scene/play negotiation
- Scene choreography and flow
- Fundamentals and safety precautions of impact play
- Rope play with an emphasis on safety
- Establishing boundaries and limits for yourself and partners
- How to safely explore a variety of interests
